It gives me immense pleasure to address you as the Principal of the sole college of Udharbond L.A. constituency where all the stakeholders are learners; deriving opportunity to learn something new everyday. Since it's inception in 1998 under the patronage of Sri Ajit Singh, former Minister of Excise and Sports and by untiring efforts of the prominent educationists, academicians and people from civil society of the area. The college has been striving towards achieving high academic standards and excellence in a holistic student-centric environment while incorporating different teaching approaches. The college fraternity has developed the intrinsic motivation to uphold the values of accountability, transparency and sociability. Over the last twenty five years the college has been encountering manifold challenges to bridge the gap between the resources it possesses and the resources it needs for holistic development. Now standing at the doorstep of transitional educational system through introduction of NEP-2020, the college stands tall to embrace the curricular activities which the affiliating University is going to offer. While leaving no stone unturned for holistic development of the students the college has introduced add-on course(s) and is planning to introduce self-financed vocational courses in coming days.

With a view to offer a holistic learning platform to the students, the college engages various internal cells and committees to assist the students surpass the four walls of a classroom and the respective cells and committees truly engage the student community in different cocurricular activities such as games and sports, quiz competition, debate competition, seminar, symposium, blood donation, literary and cultural activities etc. which in turn help them acquire different life skills and exploit their potentials in myriad ways. The college also strives to sensitize the student community to the needs of the community besides inculcating values like humility, discipline, compassion, integrity, empathy, tolerance, inclusivity etc. The college fraternity has developed the intrinsic motivation to uphold the values of accountability, transparency and sociability. The upcoming academic session is of great importance for Jagannath Singh College as the college is likely to be assessed by NAAC for the first time since it's inception. The IQAC of the college, in keeping with the guidelines of UGC has been working hard to initiate, plan and supervise various activities that are necessary to enhance the quality of education imparted in the college. The college fraternity is confident enough to succeed in this noble endeavour as for imparting quality education and to bridge the gaps in teaching-learning, the experienced and synergistic faculty members of the college have started banking upon the use of platforms like goggle classroom and departmental WhatsApp group since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The college has also established some important statutory committees such as Internal Complaint Committee, Grievance Redressal Cell and Anti-Ragging Committee as per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC and the Supreme Court. The ICC keeps an eye on effective enforcement of basic human rights of gender equality and assurance of an environment free of Sexual harassment and abuse. The Grievance Redressal Cell looks into the complaints over academic and non-academic matters within the campus lodged by any student and redresses it. The Anti- Ragging Committee seeks to ensure a ragging free Campus. As Principal of the college I am pleased to ventilate that the collaboration among all the stakeholders of the college in the field of education including administration, teachers, students and parents for imparting knowledge in myriad ways genuinely grooms the student community to acquire all social and life skills needed to excel in practical life.

Keeping all round development of the college in mind I, on behalf of the Jagannath Singh College fraternity seek unconditional support, cooperation and suggestions from all the stakeholders of the college to make it one of the premier colleges of the valley in imparting quality education.
